Last updated: April 30, 2026

1. Introduction

GoodCoop ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using GoodCoop, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: your email address, password (hashed), and optional profile details you provide.

Content you create: chat messages, prompts, saved items, budget entries, tracker logs, and notification preferences.

Payment information: we do not store full card numbers. Payments are processed by Stripe, which receives your payment details directly.

Usage data: standard logs such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps used to operate and secure the Service.

Cookies: we use essential cookies for authentication and session management.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • Process payments, manage subscriptions, and send billing receipts.
  • Generate AI responses and images based on your prompts.
  • Send transactional emails (account, billing, security, notifications you opt into).
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

4. AI Processing

When you use AI features, your prompts and relevant context are sent to our AI providers to generate a response. We do not sell your prompts or use them to train third-party models without your consent. AI outputs are stored in your account so you can revisit them.

5. Sharing Your Information

We share data only with service providers that help us operate the Service, including:

  • Hosting and database: our managed cloud backend.
  • Payments: Stripe, for subscription processing and tax compliance.
  • AI providers: for generating chat responses and images.
  • Email delivery: for transactional and account emails.

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, or security reasons.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, row-level security on our database, and least-privilege access controls. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
  • Export a copy of your data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent at any time.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise these rights, email us at hello@goodcoop.app.

9. Children's Privacy

GoodCoop is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards to protect your data during international transfers.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, if changes are material, notify you by email or in the Service.
